History
James Everard
Poole originally founded American Sheet Metal, in
1946. ASM was originally located in the basement of
his house on Edsall Rd. in Lincolnia, VA. The company
was moved to a rented garage on Potomac St. in Georgetown
in 1947 and then moved to 14th St. in SE D.C. after
the purchase of property and construction of a 4,000
square foot building in 1951.
In 1953,
James retired and his oldest son Dick took over the
company. Dick changed the name of the company to American
Metal Fabricators in 1959. The company moved to Marlow
Heights, MD in 1963 after the purchase of one acre
of land, and the construction of a 10,000 sq. ft.
building. American Metal Fabricators incorporated
in the State of Maryland in March of 1964.
In 1975,
Dick retired and sold his interest to his remaining
brothers Allan, Phillip and Tom. With the combined
effort of the three remaining brothers and wise business
practices, the size of the complex increased to cover
4.5 contiguous acres with manufacturing facilities
and offices covering over 40,000 square feet. In 1979
a relationship with Burdette Woodworking Company "BWC"
owned by Larry and Karen Burdette was entered to give
us the capability to combine our metal working skills
with their woodworking skill to produce food service
equipment with unequaled quality and craftsmanship.
The three
brothers ran the company until 1986 when Allan retired
and sold his interest to his two remaining brothers.
In 1996, Tom retired and sold his interest in the
company to the sole remaining original brother and
President of the company James "Phillip"
Poole.
The companies
were relocated to the Calvert County Industrial Park
in Prince Frederick, Md. in the summer of 1998. The
new facility now encompasses 8.84 contiguous acres
with offices and manufacturing facilities covering
92,000 square feet.
In the
summer of 2000 Phillip Poole bought Burdette Woodworking,
and changed the name to Blue Water Cabinetry. January
2001, after a long time relationship with a well-known
merchandiser distributor, Ameridiser was created to
provide factory direct retail outlet to service the
food store industry to supply heated and refrigerated
merchandisers.
Ameridiser
is proud to be America's fastest growing manufacturer
and distributor of food store merchandisers nationwide.
